CRG Acquisition, LLC v. H. Scott Ross et al
I got curious about the legal wrangling surrounding the auction of the Sara Lee/Bryan Foods plant as well as the questions raised about West Point losing the sales tax revenue from the auction so I did some research on the issue. On this page I have posted for public download some of the relevant files I collected both with email questions and using the PACER system for Federal Court records. These are presented with little commentary. I will let you, the reader, decide if this was a smart way to handle things.
These files all require Adobe Reader to view. Most users have Adobe Reader installed, but if you find you need it the free download is here.
- The city board minutes from April 29, 2008 as published on their website. This is the special meeting called to repeal the zoning ordinance. This meeting occurred 7 days after the lawsuit was filed. I see no mention of a lawsuit in these minutes which are the latest available at the time of this page posting. I also failed to find any press report in or around the time of the auction that indicated the Mayor and Board were named in a suit filed by CRG.

- The Terms of Dismissal
- A hypothetical question I posed to the State Tax Commission via email and the answer I received.
